Avenger Class Mine Counter Measures Ship's (MCMs) Mission Statement

The MCM's mission is to find, classify, and destroy moored and bottom
anti-ship and anti-submarine mines.

These ships use sonar and video systems, cable cutters and a mine detonating
device that can be released and detonated by remote control.
